Hey that's really a well rounded argument; very well thought out and supported. One would expect a bit more from an apparent Marine.
Paultards...seriously? What are you in grade school or something? Come back when you hit adulthood and can formulate a better argument and maintain a dialogue.
"I hate to be the one to point this out, but if there’s one thing I hate more than Ron Paul it's the Paultards that follow him."
This is a perfect example of conservatives driving Libertarians away from what hat been a united resistance. These kooks hate Ron Paul and his Libertarian ideas more than Obama. They wrap themselves in the constitution, but when someone who wants to follow all the constitution comes along they show their progressive colors.
Now that ^ is an adult comment which fosters dialogue.
Great point(s) Trestin. That's one thing that I can't understand either. Far too many of these "conservatives" aren't even listening to Ron Paul. They're listening to the pundits and rather than formulating their own opinions around what he is saying they are instead regurgitating what the pundits are telling them.
Case in point is this isolationist business. First, there's nothing isolationist about trading and opening up dialogue with other countries which is what Ron Paul wants to do. Secondly, what is isolationist is cutting off countries through economic sanctions which not only isolates said country but isolates the U.S.
A very vocal minority doesn't have much of an effect in a real primary which is why Ron Paul always tanks there. I only the Republican Party keep pushing him because he would be the easiest of the bunch to beat. And just incase by some miracle he is elected, tell me will the jobless dope user start stealing only half as much, or does now, or will he start using twice as much and keep stealing the same amount? Will the people who abstain out of fear of arrest suddenly start using lots of dope? Whata ya think? By the way, the man has absolutely no chance of winning....ever. And by the way, I know YOU from way back when.. We used to duke it out on the forums. I think it was on Hannity. When I spotted you name, I just had to stop by and see if your were still the same old one who used to always preach his shit on his Soapbox. And WhoopDeDoo I was right. It is you, the same old pompous douche.
Amazing that you spelled douche correct considering you can't spell blog but whatever.
It is interesting that you mentioned a primary with respect to an inability to win. Primaries are a lazy man's approach to politics as it doesn't require any sort of substance on the part of political activists. You merely show up and cast your vote. What's more, many states are closed primaries where the winner takes all the delegates. So much for that beloved democracy your "conservatives" seem to adamant about spreading around the globe.
Where a vocal minority is effective is in a caucus system (particularly an open caucus system) where they can actually encourage and bring in new ideas and new blood into the party (something the establishment party heads can only pay lip service to with their "big tent" rhetoric).
Further, to say the Republican party is "pushing" him [Ron Paul] is pretty laughable when you consider that the Republicans in Texas, despite having two Texans in the presidential race, under governor Rick Perry don't want to hold a straw poll. And why? Because they know Rick Perry can't hold a candle to the consistent record of Ron Paul and instead of Rick Perry rising to the challenge, he'd rather not face a loss in the straw poll (not quite my idea of leadership).
"And just incase by some miracle he is elected, tell me will the jobless dope user start stealing only half as much, or does now, or will he start using twice as much and keep stealing the same amount?"
Are you sure you're not the dope user? Who the fuck are you talking about in this sentence? "Jobless dope user?" "Stealing half as much?" If you're talking about Ron Paul you might want to know that he advocates letting you keep 100% of your income just as Americans did prior to 1913.
As for Ron Paul having no chance of winning, ya might want to check those polls. Further, you might want to pay attention at the next debate when the other plastic puppets in stage start trying to mimic Ron Paul on the Federal Reserve and having reservations about military adventurism (Libya). Case you didn't know the economy is in the shitter and he was the only politician out of that bunch who called in 2002.
And I suggest you take at look at which Republican candidate currently has the most in donations from active military men and women. Try not to let the truth cloud your logic.
