Russ Feingold..wasn't he the only Senator to vote against the Iraq invasion and the only Senator to vote against the Patriot Act? For a liberal, he sure could have saved this country many $billions... wonder why the T-Party ran him down?
He did vote against the patriot act and yes, I believe was the only senator to do so. Not sure about his Iraq vote. As to why the tea party ran him down....the tea party isn't what it ought to be. It's incorporated now and doing the bidding of many a Republican.
I'm not seeing that, soapster...the tea party following the GOP. they still ARE conservatives. I didn't have the big problem this guy has with the Patriot Act personally. I just heard we may have to lay off 4000 trained FBI agents... you agree with that?..better not having people checking for our safety?
And this is how we separate the proverbial men from the boys. On the one hand you have individuals such as myself that are truly libertarians; defenders of liberty, the bill of rights, the declaration of independence and then you have people that sort of wrap themselves in the flag, talk about American exceptionalism and influence in the world (all the while paying lip service to the "Constitution" only to fully support UnConstitutional shit like the Patriot Act.
I'm not living in a perpetual state of fear Z. I don't need the FBI and the CIA colluding with one another to stage terror events and place telescreens in Walmarts and wherever else imploring me to watch out for "suspicious" behavior.
So in short, yes I'm in full support of laying off trained FBI agents and the like. Because you see, I don't much enjoy living in this police state.
