Last Tuesday was Social Distortion at First Avenue in Minneapolis. It was a great show with great friends. The PBRs kicked my ass the next day though (note to self: PBR however good of a special is not a sound choice). Funny thing cuz they were 16oz tall boys. My buddy and I stepped to the bar and were thinking she was gonna crack them and we were gonna walk off with our cans. It wasn't to be. She proceeded to pour them into plastic cups to which my buddy replied "Dude, she just took a shitty beer and made it worse". No argument there. Ran into my freshman (High School) year girlfriend too. Despite the years we were admired that our musical interests were still in good taste.
And so....
Tonight is the Black Angels at the Varsity Theatre. Check my playlist over to the right. Should be a great show. These guys are straight up psychedelic rock. One of my favorite bands as of late. Still making that mental note to self on the PBRs.
Next week is election day. An article over at Lew Rockwell summed it up perfectly for me. We're merely re-arranging the deck chairs on the Titanic thus making this closure all the more apropos.
