Conservative Enablers

Chris Wallace asking a question sent in by Lucille Gallman: Did you vote for John McCain in the 2008 Presidential Election??

Rush Limbaugh: I did.

Lest you forget, it was November 8, 2006 when Limbaugh said. "I no longer have to carry the water for people who don't deserve it."

You carried it then and you'll continue to carry it.

Right here and right now I'm taking Limbaugh and all the rest to task. You are weak. And so long as you continue to enable moderation you shall be gifted with moderation!

This is precisely what the hierarchy of the party knows and hopes for. They know they can successfully play the lesser of two evils argument with the majority of people. When push comes to shove it becomes the "Well McCain or whomever isn't perfect but he's no Obama."

As long as people in a kneejerk sort of way continue to go back to the 11th commandment; "I'm going to vote for the party no matter what..." then the party will continue to drift.

Until you can get the 23rd congressional district scenario nationwide; where you've got a guy Doug Hoffman (I mean the man should get an award for Christ's sake) who tells himself "Ya know...I may cause the defeat of a Republican candidate but here's the thing I DON'T CARE!" That is precisely what would hold the feet to the fire for Republicans. It would thereby force the Republican candidate to adhere to the platform.

But I digress...it's your party and so you may do with it what you will. Those of us who are committed to actually moving this country in its intended and foundational direction understand this:

The party is merely the conduit to the message; the cause. And there is more than one way and one party in which to transport that message.

So Rusky gets punked because he does not fact check (Not the first time)? Wow, what a surprised.

Oh, and when contronted that he was punked, he defended himself by saying “we stand by the fabricated quote because we know Obama thinks it anyway” (Yeah good try to save face, what a loser)

After so many years of mis-labeling and mis-characterizing others he gets smacked down by the NFL “Not For Limbaugh”. Way to go NFL, great job!

As someone who (ick) pulled the lever for the idiot in a sad attempt to derail Obama, we're at a point where we have to stop supporting Republicans if they're milktoast moderates or big government "conservatives." Otherwise, it'll be victory followed by defeat in Congress, then at the polls, and further whittling of our country into something the Founding Fathers would revolt over.

In Rush's defense (sort of), it got hard to listen to him near the end of the 2008 election, because he really didn't support the idiot he eventually voted for.

Nevertheless, if the GOP can't come up with a good candidate for 2012, then the country can burn at the touch of Obama for four more years.

On an unrelated note, something to check out if you're going to Washington: http://franken.senate.gov/contact/?page=breakfast

When push comes to shove Rush is a party guy. In fact there was an article not that long ago, I forget where but the theme was Rush says things on the air for psychological reasons. Let's say he bashes McCain the idea being to move him more to the right but then in the end Rush votes for him anyway. So Rush bashes you on the air and if you're the candidate you go oh my gosh! better get with the program only thing is it didn't work and he voted for him anyway.

BTW, Chris, my blog is no longer active, so you can remove the link on your page.

My comment: As long as we have a "winner take all" system where your only "choices" are Tweedledum and Tweedledee (Republican and Democratic parties), people are going to continue to choose between the "lesser of the two evils."
