Thou shall not challenge thy orthodoxy

Washington, DC -- UK's Lord Christopher Monckton, a former science advisor to Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, claimed House Democrats have refused to allow him to appear alongside former Vice President Al Gore at a high profile global warming hearing on Friday April 24, 2009 at 10am in Washington. Monckton told Climate Depot that the Democrats rescinded his scheduled joint appearance at the House Energy and Commerce hearing on Friday. Monckton said he was informed that he would not be allowed to testify alongside Gore when his plane landed from England Thursday afternoon.

“The House Democrats don't want Gore humiliated, so they slammed the door of the Capitol in my face,” Monckton told Climate Depot in an exclusive interview. “They are cowards.”

Monckton goes on to say:

“The Democrats have a lot to learn about the right of free speech under the US Constitution. Congress Henry Waxman's (D-CA) refusal to expose Al Gore's sci-fi comedy-horror testimony to proper, independent scrutiny by the House minority reeks of naked fear.”

I should say that none of this surprises me in the least. However, what is most telling to me is the insidious nature with which the global climate issue has been politicized. Is it not quite telling to the charge that the spokesperson advocating statist solutions to this "crisis" is in fact a politician himself? What's more, as much as the modern progressives or liberals like to laud educational achievements as a barometer of one's intellect or expertise on a subject, dare I say that on this specific subject, Gore comes up short.

Global crisies require global solutions, and that is where the progressives want our country to head towards, transcontinentalism.

I've been thinking about this Post as I've been commenting on a few other Posts.

On Z's Post, "A Question for Soapie", I found myself saying "The Media is largely Controlled by the Liberals because they are the ones who are the most into Control. Republicans are not as afraid to let people just plain Think because the Republican position makes sense once one has Thought it all through."

And than we somehow got talking again about the Global Warming Issue on Kris' Post "Reverse Discrimination...Is there such a Thing?".

In the Comment section of this Post I said "There are many Scientists who disagree that Man is the one causing this phenomena. It may just be a natural phenomena that we don't have much control over. My dad always says that the part that man contributes to this is so minute that it's not even worth talking about." and to the last Sentence in this Comment, you said, "Indeed this is true. A good analogy would be to pee in the ocean and then consider the 'deletarious' effects to sea life."

"...the Republican position..."What is the Republican position? Seems to me they're all over the map within their ranks which explains why they're wandering in the forest.

When I say Republican Position, Soap, I am referring to their original beliefs which many Republicans still believe in. I'm not sure yet if I'm really ready for another long discussion on how much they've gone astray. The very nature of the Blog-a-sphere creates a situation in which I am made to think about a large number of issues at once and each one takes time to process, so this is all I'm going to say for now in relation to this one.

Oh. Those beliefs. Yeah...good luck with them and that.
