I couldn't help but notice that one of the banners says "Free Tibet". Now, I've no qualms against freeing Tibetans. But, I couldn't help but wonder where these activists were when a California Appeals Court ruled against freeing the state's children and their parents from the bond of state control. I am of course talking about the ruling against homeschooling.
A California appeals court ruling clamped down on homeschooling by parents without teaching credentials and sent shock waves across the state last month, leaving an estimated 166,000 children as possible truants and their parents at risk of prosecution. Such a ruling infers that a parent's child is the property of the state; a state which seeks to limit the parental right to educate one's child outside of the liberal educational establishment.
So, I take the daredevil activists to task and inquire:
Is it not the height of hypocrisy to advocate the liberation and freedom of people only to then have them enslaved by the state? Of course it is. But then, I wouldn't expect you to folks to understand that what with your heads in the clouds.

Regarding their consistency or lack thereof someone once said "consistency is the hobgoblin of small minds." It's like with pro-choice, there's hardly any other issues that they feel very pro-choice over like your right to smoke. Ah consistency! to be so fettered in by logic and reason and not let your mind roam free through the verdant pastures of liberalism.
But Z, that's what happens when one doesn't know the equation by which they live by. All they know is the answer which they seek. As such, they can't apply that equation to a myriad of things.
So yeah, it's like people on our side of the aisle who think smoking bans are good public policy but Hillary wanting to take oil company profits to use towards getting off of middle eastern oil is bad. Seems to me that if one were to go down the road of "for the public good" (as those kats did with their want for smoking bans), such a case could be made for environmental betterment by doing away with oil right?

You're also right in that most people really don't take time to think about things. I honestly can't tell you how many times I've had a discussion with someone and they have no opinion or thought to any matter.
In essence, they have no philosophy by which they live. Since they have none of their own, they adopt what it is they learn from others.
The problem therein becomes, which individuals ought they be learning from? They don't know despite that they think they do.

Most people live by whatever recordings have been placed in their heads by their parents and/or unfortunately the biased news media and school system. They are merely robots that follow their programing and do what they are told. And then there are people like Mom who just thinks the way Dad thinks. I never could understand that. I am so not like that.
That's some discussion going on over on Beth's blog, huh? I guess I'll say my piece again eventually, but for now this is quieter.

Glad you're enjoying it all. Typically, neither Beth or myself garner much ongoing debate like that one over at her blog right now. I think she'll attest that that is a rarity. Anyway, keep checking in when you can as the both of us and Z-man always like a good engaging discussion.

I guess any blog Post can generate unexpected attention. I enjoy that sort of thing and yet at times feel a little overwhelmed by it. I guess I'm a little slow and have trouble with the fast pace of our present society. I actually feel a little nervous every time that I post, especially when it's controversial, which is usually the case.
Oh, so you believe in UFO's? Maybe the Anti-Christ is a UFO. I've actually heard some people say so. Such could do quite some impressive "Miracles". Even that seems right around the corner. Don't you think?
I meant that it was only a matter of time until satellites in our atmosphere would be beeming images onto the pavement. But, as for UFO's, I could go either way to be honest. To me, it's as much plausible as it is not plausible.
The universe is vast. And, in as much as living organisms live in the harshest of environments here on earth, I suppose it's possible that such rare life forms exist in other realms.
Whether they can travel through time and space....well....I'll leave that to Dennis Kucinich to decide. LOL
